Pro-Animal Colorado Voter Guide
Hello to all you lovely people!
Welcome to our Colorado General Election Voter Guide! Protecting animals goes hand-in-hand with protecting our communities, our schools, and our natural world. In Denver, we’re voting to outlaw the extreme cruelty of force-fed foie gras. Across the state, we’re pushing for essential funding for public classrooms and habitat conservation, while standing united to defeat dangerous initiatives that attack immigrant safety, clean energy, and wildlife protections. Thank you for using your vote to build a more compassionate Colorado. Check out our handy cheat sheet below!

VoteYes!on:
Measure 311 Denver only
We’re voting Yes! to ban the commercial sale and distribution of force-fed foie gras across Denver. Force-feeding ducks is extreme and unnecessary cruelty.

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who collected over 11,000 signatures and to everyone that helped us accomplish this.

Investing in Our Communities
Vote Yes!
on Fair Taxes & Public Schools
While our primary mission is animal protection, compassion doesn’t stop at species boundaries. Environmental health, fair democracy, and community justice are deeply interconnected. Building a thriving, compassionate society means investing in public education, economic fairness, and healthcare access.

VoteYes!on:
Amendment 87
Graduated Fair Share Tax
We’re voting Yes! because Amendment 87 replaces Colorado’s unfair flat tax with a graduated system that cuts income taxes for 97% of working Coloradans while asking millionaires to pay their fair share. It generates $2.7 billion annually for public schools, healthcare, and community services, funding the public infrastructure that communities rely on.

VoteYes!on:
Proposition NN
K-12 Education & Classroom Accessibility
We’re voting Yes! because Proposition NN keeps $500 million more a year for public schools, where chronic underfunding has hit vulnerable students the hardest. It expands vital accessibility resources, special education services, and mental health support while lowering class sizes.

VoteYes!on:
Proposition 137
Conservation Gear Tax
We’re voting Yes! because Proposition 137 dedicates existing state sales tax on sporting goods and outdoor gear directly to wildlife habitat protection, open space preservation, and wildfire prevention without raising taxes. It establishes conservation funding for Colorado’s native ecosystems.

Statewide Opposition Slate
Standing Up for Broader Causes
Vote No!
on Advance Colorado & Protect Kids Slates
A series of deceptive and dangerous measures on this ballot threaten Colorado’s wildlife, democratic rights, and community welfare. From attempting to constitutionalize slow-kill body-gripping steel traps that can indiscriminately capture family dogs, bears, and non-target wildlife, to restricting voting access, silencing citizen initiatives, and targeting vulnerable youth, these proposals dismantle vital protections across our state. We believe it is essential to take a stand, defend our communities, and reject these harmful measures across the board.

VoteNo!on:
Amendment 81
Police Reporting to ICE
We’re voting No! because Amendment 81 amends the Colorado Constitution to mandate that local police report individuals to federal immigration authorities. Weaponizing local police into federal immigration agents spreads fear among immigrant and BIPOC communities, drains local public safety resources, and damages community trust.

VoteNo!on:
Amendment 82
Right to Natural Gas
We’re voting No! because Amendment 82 locks fossil gas into our state constitution to block clean energy transitions. Fracking and gas pipelines destroy vital wildlife habitats, pollute waterways, and worsen the climate crisis threatening our native species.

VoteNo!on:
Amendment 83
Right to Hunt & Fish
🐾
We’re voting No! because Amendment 83 is designed to block voters from passing future wildlife protections. Hunting and fishing are already legally protected under Colorado law. Cementing this into our state constitution would solely protect cruel practices like hound hunting, trophy hunting, and steel traps that can indiscriminately capture and kill family pets and native wildlife.

VoteNo!on:
Amendment 84
Mail Ballot ID Hurdles
We’re voting No! because Amendment 84 adds unnecessary ID hurdles designed to restrict our proven vote-by-mail system. It creates confusing barriers that suppress voter turnout.

VoteNo!on:
Amendment 85
Initiative Wording Mandate
We’re voting No! because Amendment 85 advertises itself as ‘plain language,’ but it is designed to keep voters in the dark about who pays for tax cuts. It wipes away the clear tax impact tables voters approved to show whether measures help working families or the ultra-wealthy, while using vague reading-level mandates to tie up future citizen initiatives in costly legal gridlock.

VoteNo!on:
Proposition 132
Fentanyl Mandatory Minimums
We’re voting No! because Proposition 132 imposes rigid mandatory minimum sentences and classifies any possession as a felony rather than expanding prevention and treatment. Expanding mass incarceration fuels exploitative prison labor programs rather than addressing root causes with public health solutions.

VoteNo!on:
Proposition 134
Youth Sports Restrictions
We’re voting No! because Proposition 134 excludes transgender youth from school sports and subjects young athletes to invasive privacy violations. Compassion means ensuring all children are treated with dignity, safety, and inclusion, whether in our neighborhoods, in our schools, or on the athletic field.

VoteNo!on:
Proposition 135
Adolescent Healthcare Ban
We’re voting No! because Proposition 135 intrudes into private family decisions and bans evidence-based medical care for vulnerable youth. Protecting young people requires empathy, respect for bodily autonomy, and trust in families and medical professionals, not politically motivated government mandates.

VoteNo!on:
Proposition 136
Flat Income Tax Cap
We’re voting No! because Proposition 136 permanently caps state income tax rates, starving Colorado of critical public funding. Slashing state revenue directly jeopardizes wildlife conservation, habitat restoration, and state parks. We cannot protect our environment or our animals by stripping away the resources needed to care for them.
